• Location: Crawley, West Sussex (Mainstream Primary School)
• Pay: £90-£105 per day (dependent on experience)
• Hours: Monday to Friday (term time only)
• Contract: Ongoing

We are recruiting a dedicated Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Crawley. This role involves providing 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them access learning and thrive in the classroom.

The Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN / SEND), ensuring they are fully supported both academically and emotionally.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's needs
• Supporting learning across the primary curriculum
• Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
• Adapting activities to support engagement and understanding
• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
• Supporting social skills, confidence, and independence

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Support Worker
• Experience or strong interest in SEN, SEND, Autism (ASD), or additional needs
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
