Teacher of English (Full-Time or Part-Time Available)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of English to join a high-performing and supportive department. You will teach English at GCSE and potentially at A Level, contributing to a subject area known for strong outcomes and high student engagement.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, using data to inform teaching
- Set high expectations for achievement, behaviour, and conduct
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental resources
- Support students' academic and personal development, including as a form tutor
- Lead or support extracurricular activities such as reading clubs or writing workshops
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community
- Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A degree in English or a related subject, and a recognised teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach KS4-KS5 (KS3 desirable)
- A proven ability (or clear potential) to inspire a love of reading and writing
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Confidence in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning
- A commitment to high standards and continuous improvement
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for English
- A willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school life
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
