Contract: Full-time, Term-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm

Salary: £34,000.00 - 52,000.00 (depending on experience)
NextGen Teachers are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of English with Drama to join a high-achieving and forward-thinking school. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to become part of a supportive and dynamic department committed to delivering outstanding teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will teach English up to GCSE level, alongside some Key Stage 3 Drama. A strong background in English is essential, while experience or an interest in Drama is highly desirable. You will plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and appropriately differentiated lessons that inspire students and foster a genuine love of literature and language. All Drama lessons are fully planned and resourced, providing excellent support within the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in English up to GCSE and KS3 Drama
- Take responsibility for the progress, achievement, and development of all pupils
- Teach mixed-ability classes effectively, adapting teaching to meet diverse learning needs
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning across the department
- Support students' holistic development, both academically and personally
- Build positive relationships with students to motivate and inspire a love of learning
- Participate in and contribute to extra-curricular activities, particularly within English and Drama (e.g. creative writing, public speaking, drama events)
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing resources and best practice within a supportive team
- Act as a reflective practitioner, continually developing and improving teaching practice
- Uphold the school's core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Excellence
- Follow the school ethos and maintain high professional standards in line with national expectations
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, adhering to all school policies and procedures

- A qualified and enthusiastic teacher committed to delivering engaging, differentiated learning experiences that inspire a love of learning.
- A relevant degree alongside a recognised teaching qualification
- Strong, current understanding of the 11-18 curriculum and effective teaching practices
- The ability to engage, challenge, and inspire students across Key Stages 3 to 5
- Confidence in using ICT to support and enhance learning in the classroom
- A proactive approach to contributing to extracurricular opportunities and school life
- The capability to support and contribute to curriculum planning, including schemes of work and resources
- A genuine enthusiasm for English, with energy and commitment to the subject
- A clear commitment to safeguarding, with the suitability and professionalism required to work with young people.
