We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Drama to join a high-performing and supportive department. You will teach Drama at GCSE and potentially at A Level, contributing to a subject area known for strong outcomes and high student engagement.
The school's Drama department is experienced, collaborative, and passionate about delivering creative, engaging, and challenging lessons. With excellent facilities, including dedicated performance spaces and modern resources.
Students are motivated and expressive, and the department offers a wide range of enrichment opportunities, including school productions, theatre trips, and extracurricular activities. Continued success reflects the team's dedication to high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Drama lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, using data to inform teaching
- Set high expectations for achievement, behaviour, and conduct
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental resources
- Support students' academic and personal development, including as a form tutor
- Lead or support extracurricular activities such as school productions and drama clubs
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community
- Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A degree in Drama, Performing Arts, or a related subject, and a recognised teaching qualification
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach KS4-KS5 (KS3 desirable)
- A proven ability (or clear potential) to inspire creativity and confidence in students
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Confidence in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning
- A commitment to high standards and continuous improvement
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for Drama and the performing arts
- A willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and school productions
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
