Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Supply)

NextGen Teachers are working closely with a number of primary, secondary and SEN schools across Bradford to recruit enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis, starting as soon as possible.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and are looking for flexible work across a range of school settings.

We are looking for candidates who are available 3-5 days per week and who are happy to travel 5 - 10 miles across Bradford and work in various schools. Please note, personal care may be required in this role.

About the Role

As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital classroom and pastoral support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Physical and Medical needs and learning difficulties. You may work on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, or as general classroom support depending on school requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with SEN in primary, secondary and specialist settings

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs

  • Assist class teachers with differentiated learning activities

  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and inclusion

  • Support pupils' emotional and social development

  • Adapt confidently to different school environments

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (education-based experience preferred)

  • Is flexible, reliable, and adaptable

  • Has a patient, nurturing, and resilient approach

  • Is confident working across different school settings

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
