NextGen Teachers are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Needs Learning Support Assistant to join the supportive team at our partnership SEN school in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a school that believes in personalised learning and holistic development for every child.

About the School

This SEN school is a thriving special school for pupils aged 2-19, catering for a broad range of needs including moderate to severe learning difficulties, complex medical needs, physical disabilities, autism, and sensory impairments. The school operates a personalised, holistic approach and works closely with therapists and multi-disciplinary professionals to ensure learners can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group support to pupils with a range of SEND to help them access learning and achieve their EHCP outcomes.

• Assist teachers in delivering planned activities and differentiated learning tasks.

• Support pupils' personal care and daily routines with dignity and respect where required.

• Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence, social skills, and communication.

• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to foster a nurturing school environment.

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children/young people with special educational needs in an educational or similar setting.
• Is positive, patient, adaptable and resilient with excellent communication skills.
• Understands and supports personalised learning approaches.
• Shows commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
