SEN Teaching Assistant

Supply | Small SEN Provision

NextGen Teachers are working with a supportive school that forms part of a larger specialist education trust, who are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 11-16 within a small, specialist provision.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience supporting young people with SEN, ADHD and behavioural needs, who is looking for flexible supply work with the potential to move into a long-term or permanent position.

The Role

• Support pupils aged 11-16 with SEN and behavioural needs
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required
• Help pupils engage with learning and develop independence
• Support students with ADHD and behavioural needs
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and well being
• Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to meet individual needs
• Help maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

• Experience supporting young people with ADHD and behavioural needs
• Patient, resilient and confident when managing challenging behaviour
• Able to encourage independence while providing appropriate support
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Two professional references
• Right to work in the UK
