NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for an experienced 121 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Leeds.
The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a young person with complex communication needs and autism, helping them to engage positively with their learning and school environment.
The school supports young people across a range of ages and additional needs, providing a nurturing, inclusive and specialist learning environment.
We are looking for someone who is patient, compassionate and experienced in supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly autism and communication needs.
The Role:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with complex communication and autism
- Supporting the pupil's learning, engagement and development
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team
- The role is to start ASAP and will be on a temporary basis to begin with, with the potential to develop into a long-term position for the right candidate.
About You:
We're looking for someone who is patient, confident and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
Confident and Experienced with challenging behaviours
Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
Minimum 4/C in English and Maths GCSE
Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or 1:1 Teaching Assistant would be highly beneficial.
