NextGen Teachers are currently working with a fantastic Specialist school in Huddersfield who are seeking to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 4 - 16 years in school with complex Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs. The school are looking for a candidate who has experience working with children who have experienced Trauma and who therefore live with; Anxiety, Depression, Mental health needs, Behavioural issues and some Learning needs. This role requires a candidate who is resilient and supportive.
The school are looking for a candidate who can start ASAP and can work Term-time only (Monday - Friday) from 8:30am - 3:30pm.
The role of a SEMH Teaching Assistant will be to:
- Support pupils in the classroom on a day to day basis with a range of complex SEMH needs
- Support pupils who are at risk of crisis
- Support pupils with behaviour and emotional regulation
- Working with multiple pupils and supporting students with 1-2-1 support and Intervention
- Support pupils with their holistic development in line with there Educational Health Care Plans
- Supporting and managing the behaviour of the students
