SEMH Teacher
SEMH Teacher (KS4 & Art Specialism)
Location: Leeds
Contract: Part-time
Start: June 2026
Salary: MPS-UPS (dependent on experience)
We are working in partnership with a specialist setting in Leeds to recruit a passionate and experienced SEMH Teacher with a KS4 focus and Art specialism. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing environment, supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
The school provides a supportive and structured setting for learners who may have experienced barriers to education. Creativity plays a key role in engagement, supporting self-expression, emotional regulation, and re-engagement with learning-particularly through art and creative subjects at KS4.
The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons across the curriculum, with a focus on KS4 learners and Art
- Support pupils with SEMH needs through structured, consistent, and therapeutic approaches
- Use creative and artistic strategies to promote emotional expression and wellbeing
- Build strong, positive relationships to support behaviour and engagement
- Differentiate learning to meet a wide range of needs and abilities
- Monitor and track pupil progress, celebrating small steps and achievements
- Work collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders, and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching KS4 pupils
- Art specialism or strong experience delivering Art/creative subjects
- Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or within alternative provisions
- A flexible and creative approach to teaching and learning
- Confidence in managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils to re-engage with education
