Primary Teacher
Primary Teacher (KS1 & KS2) - Specialist Independent School
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: To be confirmed - notice period can be accommodated
Salary: MPS 2 - 6 plus SEND allowance (£34,823 - £45352 + £2786)
The Opportunity
Due to expansion, we are seeking a dedicated and confident Primary Teacher to join an independent specialist school supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
This role involves working with pupils who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside additional learning and communication difficulties. Class sizes are small, with a strong emphasis on relationship-based practice, emotional regulation, and personalised learning.

The school provides a nurturing, structured environment for pupils who have not been able to thrive within mainstream education. Teaching is delivered through a bespoke curriculum, designed to meet individual needs and support both academic progress and emotional development.
Staff work closely with support teams to ensure pupils feel safe, understood, and able to engage positively with learning.

The Role
- Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS1 and KS2
- Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning, emotional, and behavioural needs
- Create a calm, consistent, and supportive classroom environment
- Use trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to support behaviour
- Work collaboratively with support staff and leadership
- Contribute to pupil progress, EHCP targets, and individual learning plans
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent)
- Experience teaching in primary settings (KS1 and/or KS2)
- A strong understanding of SEMH and additional learning needs (or a willingness to develop this)
- A calm, patient, and emotionally intelligent approach
- Excellent behaviour management rooted in consistency and relationships
- A genuine passion for inclusive and specialist education
