Primary SEN Teaching Assistant - KS1 (Full-Time)

Location: Leeds
Contract: Full-time, long-term, permanent, term-time only
Start Date: ASAP

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting an experienced Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a large, inclusive primary school in Leeds. This is a full-time role starting as soon as possible, supporting pupils within an in-house KS1 SEN provision.

The Role

You will be working closely with children who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)

  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)

  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)

  • Global Developmental Delay (GDD)

  • Social, Emotional and Behavioural Needs

Support will be provided both 1:1 and in small groups, helping pupils to access learning, develop communication skills, regulate emotions and engage positively with the school environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly within primary or KS1 settings

  • Are confident working with children with autism and complex needs

  • Have experience supporting pupils with EHCPs

  • Are patient, resilient and nurturing

  • Can work effectively as part of a wider SEN and teaching team

Relevant SEN qualifications or training are desirable, but experience is essential for this role.
