Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm), term-time only
Flexible opportunities available, including day-to-day supply and long-term placements
Start Date: Immediate start available
Pay: £100 - £160 per day (dependant on experience)

NextGen Teachers are delighted to be recruiting Early Career Teachers (ECTs) for a range of Supply Teacher and HLTA roles across Halifax. We work in partnership with a wide network of Primary, Secondary, and SEN schools throughout West Yorkshire, offering both short-term and long-term opportunities to suit your availability and career goals.

This role is ideal for ECTs who are keen to gain valuable classroom experience, build confidence, and develop their practice while working flexibly in supportive school environments.

About the Role

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons to whole classes in the absence of the class teacher, including PPA cover

  • Provide HLTA-level classroom support when required

  • Assist with planning and preparing learning activities alongside the wider school team

  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the needs of pupils, including those with SEN, EAL, and additional learning needs

  • Provide targeted academic, behavioural, and social-emotional support to pupils

  • Support the assessment of pupil progress and feedback to teaching staff

  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents to support pupil development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / ECT status

  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting

  • A good understanding of a range of SEN needs and inclusive practice

  • A flexible, adaptable, and compassionate approach

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities

  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one

  • GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English, Maths, and Science
