Location: Crawley, West Sussex
Pay: £90-£110 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time | Ongoing Supply

Are you a passionate Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant with an interest in Dyslexia, literacy support, and SEND education?
We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary specialist school in Crawley. This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with Dyslexia, literacy difficulties, and additional learning needs within a nurturing and highly supportive environment.
The school is looking for someone patient, engaging, and passionate about helping pupils build confidence, develop reading and writing skills, and achieve their potential.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to provide targeted literacy and classroom support for pupils with Dyslexia and associated learning difficulties.
You will support children both within the classroom and through small groups or 1:1 interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with Dyslexia and literacy-based learning needs
- Delivering 1:1 and small group interventions focused on reading, writing, and phonics
- Supporting pupils' confidence, engagement, and classroom participation
- Assisting with differentiated learning activities and adapted resources
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and specialist staff
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who are:
- Experienced as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or Literacy Support Assistant
- Passionate about supporting children with Dyslexia and additional learning needs
- Knowledgeable or interested in phonics, literacy interventions, and SEND support
- Calm, patient, and encouraging in their approach
- Strong communicators who work well within a team
- Committed to supporting long-term pupil progress and development
