Pay: £90-£110 per day (dependent on experience)

NextGen Teachers are recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to support children and young people across schools in Surrey and West Sussex. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates looking to build experience within education while supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN / SEND).
This role is particularly suited to graduates considering careers in Teaching, Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Counselling, or Child Mental Health.
The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASD/ASC), SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and learning needs.
You will help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop key social and emotional skills within a supportive school environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with classroom learning, engagement, and behaviour support
- Supporting students with SEN, SEND, Autism (ASD), and SEMH needs
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and social development
- Helping create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

Requirements
- A degree in any subject (completed within the last 5 years)
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people
