Location: Kirklees
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm
Age Group: 11-18 years
Start Date: September
Salary: £92-£95 per day (depending on experience)

NextGen Teachers are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities:

  • Use outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Remain calm and professional under pressure, responding effectively to challenging situations.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service, ensuring all interactions are respectful, supportive, and solution-focused.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team while also using your own initiative when required.
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and professional standards at all times.

What we're looking for:

  • A motivated, enthusiastic, and engaging Teaching Assistant with a genuine passion for supporting students with SEND in a mainstream school environment.
  • Experience working with children or young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, supporting both learning and pastoral care in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
  • A strong ability to work collaboratively with class teachers to support teaching, learning, and progress, while promoting inclusion and positive outcomes for all pupils.
  • A caring and proactive approach, focused on promoting independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion, while supporting individuals and small groups to access the curriculum and achieve success.
