The Role

As a Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant / Tutor, you will support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including:

  • Autism (ASD / ASC)
  • PMLD
  • SLD
  • Complex learning difficulties
  • Communication and sensory needs

You will work closely with experienced teachers and SEN staff to help students access learning, build confidence, and develop independence in a structured and nurturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting with learning, communication, and behaviour support
  • Supporting students with Autism (ASD), SEND, and complex needs
  • Encouraging independence, engagement, and social development
  • Supporting sensory activities and structured learning tasks
  • Providing personal care and physical support where required
