Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Start Date: September
Salary: £19500 - £21,500 (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about giving young children the best possible start in their education? NextGen Teachers are looking for a caring and enthusiastic EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference during the early years, helping children build confidence, develop key skills, and reach important milestones in a nurturing environment while gaining valuable experience in SEN education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access learning and achieve their individual targets.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning activities and implement personalised support strategies.
• Encourage children's communication, social, emotional, and independence skills through engaging and age-appropriate activities.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and confident to learn.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents while monitoring progress and providing feedback to support each child's development.

What we're looking for:

• A caring, patient and resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND
• Experience working with children or young people with autism, learning difficulties, or communication needs (desirable but not essential)
• A positive, calm approach to behaviour support and emotional regulation
• Good communication skills when working with pupils, colleagues, and families
• A proactive attitude and ability to adapt to pupils' individual needs
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing
