SEN Teaching Assistant (Supply) - Primary | Leeds | Immediate Start
Location: Leeds
Job Type: Full-time, Term Time Only (Supply - Long-term opportunities available)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Salary: £92 - £95 per day (depending on experience)

SEN Teaching Assistant
NextGen Teachers are recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a specialist SEN school in Leeds. This is a full-time, term-time role supporting primary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with experience in education, care, or support work who are looking for a rewarding role with the potential for long-term placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children with SEN and SEMH needs in the classroom
- Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions
- Assist with learning activities, behaviour management, and emotional support
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support pupil progress
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children (essential)
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, or Care Worker (preferred)
- Knowledge of SEN needs such as:
- ASD (Autism)
- ADHD
- MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties)
- SEMH
- Behavioural needs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A patient, caring, and proactive attitude
