Location: Huddersfield
Pay: £90-£95 per day
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full-time, term-time only (13 weeks holiday per year)
Start Date: ASAP

Are you calm, confident, and great at supporting young people?

NextGen Teachers are looking for a Behaviour Buddy to join a school in Huddersfield. In this role, you will provide friendly, one-to-one and small group support for students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them feel safe, confident, and ready to learn.

This full-time, term-time only position is ideal for anyone with experience in schools, youth work, care, or mental health support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be a positive role model and support students with behaviour and emotional needs

• Provide one-to-one and small group support in the classroom and around school

• Help maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming learning environment

• Follow behaviour and safeguarding plans with guidance from school staff

• Use relationship-based strategies and calm de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour

Who We're Looking For:

• Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour or additional needs

• Calm, consistent, and emotionally resilient

• Able to build positive relationships and set clear boundaries

• Background in education, care, mental health, or youth work is a plus
