Autism Support Assistant - Leeds Specialist School

Contract: Supply / Flexible Hours - Term Time Only
NextGen Teachers are working with a vibrant and nurturing special school in Leeds that provides education and care for children and young people with a wide range of Neurodiverse, Communication and Sensory needs. The school are seeking to recruit Autism Support Assistants on a supply or full-time basis who can start work as soon as possible.
We are seeking caring, adaptable, and enthusiastic Supply SEN Teaching Assistants to join our tea to support zing SEN school in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to make a real difference while enjoying flexible working arrangements.
About the Role
As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils aged 4-16 with a variety of additional needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Global developmental delay and learning difficulties
Communication and sensory needs
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with learning activities under the direction of the class teacher.
Supporting pupils with personal care, mobility, and feeding (training provided).
Promoting communication, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and medical staff.
Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for all pupils.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about supporting children with special educational needs.
Patient, kind, and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Flexible and reliable, with a can-do attitude.
Willing to undertake relevant training (e.g. manual handling, medical procedures).
Previous experience in an SEN or care setting is desirable, but not essential.
