We are recruiting Learning Support Assistants to join a growing specialist school supporting secondary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive team as the school expands, with a strong focus on building positive relationships, supporting learning and helping young people develop confidence and independence.

The Role

You will work closely with a dedicated tutor group, supporting pupils throughout their school day and helping them access lessons, manage transitions and engage positively with learning.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils across a range of secondary subjects

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with young people

  • Adapting learning and support to individual pupil needs and EHCP targets

  • Supporting emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement

  • Helping pupils transition between lessons and re-engage with learning

  • Supporting enrichment activities, trips and break/lunchtime activities

  • Monitoring wellbeing and reporting safeguarding or pastoral concerns

  • Working closely with teachers, therapists and the wider education team

  • Experience working with or communicating confidently with teenagers

  • A calm, patient and consistent approach

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills

  • A genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential
