Location: Roles available in Wakefield, Huddersfield & Kirklees
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only, Temporary to Permanent - Supply also available
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Start Date: September
Salary: £20,000 - £22,500

Are you a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity? We're working with a range of SEN and mainstream schools across Wakefield, Huddersfield and Kirklees, with opportunities available to support children and young people with a variety of additional needs.

You could be supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), communication needs, learning difficulties, SEMH and other additional needs, helping them access learning and feel confident within the school environment.

Whether you have experience in a specialist SEN setting or a mainstream school, we're keen to hear from candidates who are passionate about supporting children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEN and additional needs.
• Support pupils to access learning through personalised and engaging activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and confidence.
• Support children and young people with SEMH and behavioural needs where required.
• Help pupils develop independence, communication and social skills.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and wider school teams to provide consistent support.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience supporting children or young people in education, care, healthcare, youth work or support settings.
• A caring, patient and positive approach with a genuine passion for supporting pupils.
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, Autism, SEMH, behavioural or communication needs is desirable.
• Confident building strong and positive relationships with children and young people.
• Reliable, adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a supportive school team.
