NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Bingley on a supply basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, or someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs, to work within a nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils are supported to achieve their individual potential.

The Role

As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide valuable support to pupils with a range of special educational needs. Working alongside experienced teaching and support staff, you will help create a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils

• Supporting pupils to access learning and participate in classroom activities

• Helping develop pupils' confidence, independence and social skills

• Supporting pupils with their emotional and behavioural needs

• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils

• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning resources

• Following individual support plans and strategies

• Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Patient, caring and empathetic

• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs

• Confident building positive relationships with pupils

• Resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations

• Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the school

• A strong communicator and team player

Previous experience working within an SEN, ASD, SEMH, complex needs or specialist school setting is desirable. However, we also welcome applications from candidates with mainstream Teaching Assistant experience who are keen to develop their SEN experience.
