NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Primary SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a supply basis within a specialist primary school in Keighley.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a genuine difference to their educational and personal development.

The Role

As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.

The role may involve working on a 1:1 basis, in small groups or within the wider classroom, depending on the needs of the pupils and school.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils to access learning and participate in classroom activities
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and communication skills
• Supporting pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development
• Building positive and trusting relationships with children
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning resources
• Supporting pupils to follow individual learning and support plans
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement
• Working as part of a supportive and collaborative school team

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Calm, resilient and consistent in their approach
• Flexible and adaptable to different classroom environments
• A strong communicator and team player
• Committed to helping every child achieve their individual potential
• Previous experience in a SEN setting is mandatory
• Has the right to work in the UK
• Has the ability to provide 24 months of professional references

Previous experience working within an SEN, specialist, ASD, SEMH or complex-needs setting would be highly desirable. However, candidates with mainstream primary experience who have a genuine interest in developing their SEN experience are also encouraged to apply.
