Teaching Assistants needed!

Pay: £90-£120 per day (Dependant on experience)

Contract: Temp or Temp to Perm opportunities available, Term-Time only

Location: Mainstream and Specialist Schools located in West Sussex

Start: September 2026

NextGen are currently working with a number of local schools across Crawley and the wider West Sussex area who are looking for dedicated General Teaching Assistants to come in and support their pupils.

We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable and supportive individuals who are passionate about helping children thrive in the classroom. Roles are available in a variety of mainstream primary and secondary school settings, with opportunities to support pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups, and within whole-class learning environments.

Successful candidates will be able to commute to schools across Crawley and surrounding areas, including Haywards Heath, Horsham, and East Grinstead.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons
• Work with pupils who may need additional academic or emotional support
• Assist with classroom preparation and organisation
• Encourage positive behaviour and inclusion within the classroom
• Help track pupil progress under teacher guidance

Requirements:

• Experience working with children or young people (school-based or transferable experience)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A patient, adaptable and proactive attitude
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Relevant TA qualifications are desirable but not essential
