Primary Teaching Assistants - Mainstream Primary School
Location: Leeds, LS18
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: £92.60 minimum per day
We are seeking caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Horsforth. We have two exciting opportunities available, offering the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young learners within a supportive and inclusive school community.

Available Roles
Role 1: Primary Resourced Provision Teaching Assistant
Working within the school's specialist on-site Resourced Provision, you will support a small cohort of just 12 pupils aged 4-11 with Autism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Complex Learning Needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider multidisciplinary team to provide tailored support that enables every child to reach their full potential.
Role 2: Primary Class Teaching Assistant
Supporting pupils within a mainstream primary classroom, you will work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning experiences, lead small group interventions, and provide targeted support for children working below national expectations, including those with additional SEN needs.
The Role
- Support pupils to access learning in a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment
- Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons and targeted interventions
- Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles
- Encourage pupils' academic, social, emotional, and personal development
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, and carers
- Support positive behaviour and promote independence and confidence
- Contribute to creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive school environment
About You
- Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, or similar setting is desirable
- Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism, Speech and Language needs, or Complex Learning Needs, is advantageous for the Resourced Provision role
- A positive, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passionate about helping every child achieve their potential
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
