We are recruiting a compassionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive specialist setting in Reigate. This is an excellent opportunity for Teaching Assistants, Support Workers, Care Workers, or mainstream school staff looking to transition into SEN / SEND / SEMH education.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this a fantastic long-term career opportunity within specialist education.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs including:
- SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health)
- Autism (ASD / ASC)
- SEND and learning difficulties
- Behavioural and communication needs
You will play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, supported, and engaged in their learning while promoting emotional wellbeing, confidence, and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with behaviour support and emotional regulation
- Supporting learning activities and classroom engagement
- Helping implement EHCP targets and personalised support plans
- Creating a calm, safe, and structured learning environment
- Building positive and consistent relationships with pupils
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers and SEN staff
- Supporting personal care or additional needs where required
The Ideal Candidate

- SEN Teaching Assistants or Learning Support Assistants
- Mainstream TAs looking to move into SEND / SEMH
- Support Workers, Care Workers, or Youth Workers
- Psychology graduates or individuals interested in mental health and education
