SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Leeds
Contract: Full-time, Term-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Age Group: 3-11 years
Start Date: June
Salary: £92 - £95 (depending on experience)

NextGen Teachers are looking for a teaching assistant to start in June for a fantastic school in Leeds. You will be supporting students within a classroom setting with a wide range of learning difficulties in speech & language, autism and dyslexia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils access learning, providing small group support and helping to implement individual plans such as EHCPs
• Work in partnership with teachers to deliver adapted learning activities, promote engagement, and monitor pupils' progress
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, communication, and independence using consistent strategies
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment, including supporting with personal care where required and supervising pupils during less structured times
• Work collaboratively with staff and external professionals, following safeguarding procedures in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education

What we're looking for:

• A caring, patient and resilient individual with a genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEND
• Experience working with children or young people with autism, learning difficulties, or communication needs
• A positive, calm approach to behaviour support and emotional regulation
• Good communication skills when working with pupils, colleagues, and families
• A proactive attitude and ability to adapt to pupils' individual needs
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing
