Primary SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support | SEN / SEND / ASD) - Crawley

Location: Crawley, West Sussex (Mainstream Primary School)
Pay: £90-£105 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday (term time only)
Contract: Long-term with potential to become permanent
Start Date: Immediate / ASAP

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or Support Worker looking for a meaningful 1:1 role in a primary school?

We are working with a welcoming and supportive mainstream primary school in Crawley to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them build confidence, develop key skills, and fully access their learning.

The Role

As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent, tailored support throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering 1:1 support tailored to individual learning and emotional needs
• Supporting access to the primary curriculum, including literacy and numeracy
• Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
• Adapting learning activities to improve engagement and understanding
• Building a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil
• Supporting social development, independence, and confidence

The Ideal Candidate

This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about supporting children with SEN / SEND.

You will be:

• Experienced as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, or Support Worker
• Knowledgeable or interested in SEN, SEND, Autism (ASD), or additional needs
• Calm, patient, and nurturing in your approach
• Proactive and adaptable to individual learning needs
• A strong communicator and team player
• In possession of an Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain one)
