SEN Supply Teaching Assistant

Location: Leeds
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm), term-time only, day-to-day supply cover
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)

NextGen Teachers are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Supply Teaching Assistant to work across a range of SEN, primary, and secondary schools in Leeds. This flexible role is ideal for a confident, adaptable, and caring individual who enjoys working in different school settings and supporting pupils with a variety of needs.

You will have the opportunity to gain experience across diverse educational environments, including mainstream and specialist settings, while making a meaningful difference to pupils' learning and wellbeing.

About the Role

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across primary and secondary age ranges

• Support pupils with a range of SEN, including learning, communication, and behavioural needs

• Work alongside class teachers to support the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons

• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, supportive learning environment

• Support inclusive practice, ensuring all pupils can access learning and feel valued

• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals as required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience working with children or young people in educational settings

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN (desirable)

• A flexible, proactive, and positive approach

• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different school environments

• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection

• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

• GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English, Maths, and Science

• A Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent) - desirable but not essential
