Supply Teaching Assistant
SEN Supply Teaching Assistant
Location: Leeds
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm), term-time only, day-to-day supply cover
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £90 - £100 per day (depending on experience)
NextGen Teachers are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Supply Teaching Assistant to work across a range of SEN, primary, and secondary schools in Leeds. This flexible role is ideal for a confident, adaptable, and caring individual who enjoys working in different school settings and supporting pupils with a variety of needs.
You will have the opportunity to gain experience across diverse educational environments, including mainstream and specialist settings, while making a meaningful difference to pupils' learning and wellbeing.
About the Role
Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils across primary and secondary age ranges
Support pupils with a range of SEN, including learning, communication, and behavioural needs
Work alongside class teachers to support the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons
Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a calm, supportive learning environment
Support inclusive practice, ensuring all pupils can access learning and feel valued
Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience working with children or young people in educational settings
Experience supporting pupils with SEN (desirable)
A flexible, proactive, and positive approach
Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different school environments
A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English, Maths, and Science
A Level 3 qualification in Childcare (or equivalent) - desirable but not essential
