NextGen Teachers are currently working with a SEN school based in Bradford who are seeking to recruit a Special Needs Teaching Assistant who is seeking a full-time position working with Secondary aged SEN children starting ideally as soon as possible in the next 1-2 weeks.

The SEN school caters for children from the age of 11 - 18 years and cater for children with a range of Special Educational needs including: Autism, ADHD, MLD, VI, HI, SLD, PMLD, SEMH, Physical / Medical needs and Communication / Behavioural needs. This school has a Hydro-pool facility for pupils to access and some students require personal care so all candidates applying for this position MUST be comfortable with this.

The school are looking for enthusiastic candidates who have a passion for working with children with SEN and who are available for an immediate start.

The role of a SEN Teaching Assistant will be to:

  • Support pupils in the classroom on a day to day basis with a range of SEN and complex needs
  • Support pupils who an non-verbal with communication needs
  • Support pupils with sensory learning
  • Working with multiple pupils and supporting students with 1-2-1 support and Intervention
  • Support pupils with their holistic development in line with there Educational Health Care Plans
  • Supporting and managing the behaviour of the students
