About the Role:

You will be teaching a small KS3 cohort, delivering:

  • English (primary focus)

  • Humanities

The curriculum is adapted and personalised to meet pupils' EHCP outcomes, with a strong emphasis on engagement, emotional regulation, and reintegration pathways where appropriate.

Class sizes are small, and you will be supported by experienced behaviour support staff and teaching assistants.

About the Provision:

This provision is well-established specialist setting in Leeds that supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, communication difficulties and complex learning needs. The site provides targeted provision for learners who benefit from smaller group teaching, therapeutic support, and a highly structured learning environment.

The school promotes a trauma-informed, restorative approach and places strong emphasis on positive relationships and personalised learning pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS3

  • Teach primarily English and Humanities, with flexibility for vocational subjects

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges

  • Implement behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans

  • Work closely with pastoral teams and senior leaders

  • Track progress and contribute to review meetings

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)

  • Experience teaching KS3 (English or Humanities specialism desirable)

  • Experience working with SEMH, alternative provision or behaviour-focused settings

  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

  • Calm, consistent and resilient approach

  • Committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice
