SEN Teaching Assistant (Supply) - SEN School - Bingley

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a supply basis at a welcoming and supportive specialist school in Bingley. This opportunity offers flexibility while also providing the potential for a long-term placement for the right candidate.
The school caters for students aged 11-18 with a range of additional learning needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Complex needs
- ADHD
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
This is a rewarding role where you'll work closely with teaching staff to support students both in the classroom and through personalised interventions, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe, nurturing environment.
The Role
- Support students with a range of special educational needs throughout the school day
- Work on a one-to-one basis and with small groups to promote learning and engagement
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
- Adapt your approach to meet individual learning, communication and emotional needs
- Build positive relationships with students, staff and families
- Assist with personal care where required
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in schools or other care/support settings
- Is patient, empathetic and resilient
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Is committed to supporting young people with additional needs to thrive
- Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one
