NextGen Teachers are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Leeds, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for their next role, or for a recent graduate with an Education-related (or similar) degree who is keen to gain valuable classroom experience before progressing into teaching or another career within education.

The Role

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils across Key Stage 2 to access learning and reach their full potential.

  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.

  • Provide targeted support through one-to-one and small group interventions.

  • Assist pupils who require additional support, including those with SEND and those working below age-related expectations.

  • Encourage pupils' academic progress, confidence, independence and social development.

  • Help create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents to support positive outcomes.

  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to the wider life of the school.

About You

The school would love to hear from candidates who:

  • Have previous experience working with primary-aged children in a school or similar setting.

  • Hold a degree in Education, Childhood Studies, Psychology, Primary Education or another relevant subject and are looking to begin a career in education.

  • Are enthusiastic, patient and committed to helping children achieve their best.

  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Can work effectively as part of a team while using their own initiative.

  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one.
