NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join a highly supportive specialist SEN school in Leeds on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis, starting in September.
This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate, patient and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting children and young people with complex special educational needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils achieve their individual goals in a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
The school supports pupils with a range of complex needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMLD)
- Complex communication needs
- Physical disabilities
- Medical needs
- Sensory processing difficulties
- ADHD and associated learning needs
The Role
As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups throughout the school day
- Assist students with their learning, communication and personal development
- Work alongside teachers and therapists to deliver tailored learning activities
- Encourage independence while providing appropriate levels of support
- Support pupils with personal care and mobility where required
- Help create a positive, engaging and safe learning environment
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience supporting children or young people with SEN or complex needs, either in education, care or support settings
- Is patient, resilient and empathetic with a genuine passion for making a difference
- Is confident building positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
- Can remain calm and adaptable in a dynamic classroom environment
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one
