Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Leeds
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Supply to Temp-to-Perm
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Term-Time
Salary: £90 - £95 per day
NextGen Teachers are recruiting for a Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in Leeds.
The school supports young people aged 11-17 with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs and SEMH. The school provides a supportive environment with a strong focus on learning, wellbeing, independence and positive behaviour.
The Role
- Support pupils with learning, engagement and development.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
- Promote positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
- Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team.
- Support pupils with communication and emotional regulation.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and promote pupil welfare.
- Monitor progress and communicate any concerns.

- Experience working with young people with SEN/additional needs is desirable.
- Calm, patient and positive approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs.
- Reliable, adaptable and a strong team player.
- Committed to inclusion, safeguarding and pupil development.
