SEN Teaching Assistant - KS4

Location: Leeds
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Supply with potential for Temp to Perm
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Term-Time
Supply Pay: £90 - £95 per day
Temp to Perm Salary: £19,500 - £21,000 per annum, depending on experience

Are you a confident, patient and supportive Teaching Assistant with experience working with secondary-aged pupils?

NextGen Teachers are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Leeds, supporting pupils in KS4 aged 14-16 with additional needs.

The school provides a structured and supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to develop their confidence, independence, communication and life skills, while working towards their individual educational and future goals.

The Role

You will:

• Support KS4 pupils aged 14-16 with their learning and development
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and SEMH needs
• Assist with Literacy, Phonics, Maths and wider curriculum activities
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and independence
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and communication
• Help pupils prepare for post-16 education, employment and life beyond school
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team

The role will initially be offered on a supply basis, with the potential to become Temp to Perm for the right candidate.

• Confident supporting secondary-aged pupils
• Experienced with SEND, Autism, ADHD or SEMH
• Comfortable supporting challenging or distressed behaviour
• Able to build strong relationships with young people
• A positive and reliable team player
• Passionate about helping pupils develop confidence, independence and life skills

Experience within a secondary school, specialist setting, youth work, care or support environment would be highly beneficial.
