SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Bradford
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Supply to Temp-to-Perm
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Term-Time
Salary: £90 - £95 per day

NextGen are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming specialist school in Bradford.

The school supports young people aged 11-18 with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs and SEMH. The school provides a nurturing and supportive environment with a strong focus on learning, wellbeing, independence, positive behaviour and preparing pupils for life beyond school.

The Role

  • Support pupils with their learning, engagement and personal development.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence, independence and life skills.
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development.
  • Provide personal care support where required, including toileting, dressing and personal hygiene.
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Follow individual education and support plans.
  • Promote pupil welfare and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
  • Monitor pupil progress and communicate any concerns to the appropriate staff.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience working with young people aged 11-18 with SEN/additional needs is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with personal care is desirable.
  • Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident supporting behaviour, emotional and communication needs.
  • Reliable, adaptable and a strong team player.
  • Committed to inclusion, safeguarding and pupil development.
