SEN Teacher - Informal Learners Pathway
Location: Leeds
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: MPS - UPS + SEN allowance
NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary specialist setting for an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher to join their Informal Learners Pathway from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly supportive SEND environment, teaching pupils with a range of complex learning needs including Autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs, and associated behaviours. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a creative, nurturing, and highly personalised curriculum that supports both academic and personal development.
The Role
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
- Support pupils working significantly below age-related expectations
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with therapists, support staff, and families
- Promote communication, independence, emotional regulation, and life skills
- Monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
- Experience working within SEN or specialist provisions
- Strong understanding of Autism and complex learning needs
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Passionate about inclusive education and pupil-centred learning
