ASAP Start | Full-Time (Term-Time Only) | 8:30am-3:30pm
Special Needs School (Secondary age)

NextGen Teachers are excited to be recruiting SEN Practitioners for a highly regarded specialist SEN school in Leeds (LS9). This nurturing setting supports students aged 10-18 with Autism, ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Hearing Impairments / Visual Impairments, Social and Emotional Mental Health needs and Behavioural challenges.

This is a Secondary SEN school based in Central Leeds who are looking for candidate with previous experience working with complex SEN students in a mainstream Secondary or Specialist school.

Your Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support

  • Assist with personal care (training provided)

  • Support sensory-based, therapeutic and communication-focused activities

  • Encourage independence, engagement and emotional well-being

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and healthcare professionals

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Compassionate, patient and committed to supporting neurodiverse young people

  • Proactive, reliable and a strong team player

  • Confident supporting students with limited verbal communication

  • Experienced in SEN or care settings (preferred, not essential)

Essential:

  • Genuine passion for supporting students with SEND

  • Previous experience working with Secondary aged students in a professional capacity with SEN / SEMH
