SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA) - Huddersfield

NextGen Teachers are working with a specialist provision in Huddersfield that is seeking a committed and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This is a rewarding role where you'll play a key part in supporting students who face challenges that impact their ability to access mainstream education.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 or small group basis
• Helping to implement individual behaviour plans and emotional regulation strategies
• Assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive and positive learning environment
• Building trusting relationships with students to support their academic and personal development
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and external agencies

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
• Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (desirable but not essential)
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• The right to work in the UK
• Two professional references
