NextGen Teachers are working in partnership with a welcoming SEN Provision in Leeds to recruit a full-time Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible this January 2026. This role will involve supporting children across KS3 and KS4 with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD, Social and Emotional Mental Health needs and Behavioural needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young learners at a crucial stage of their development.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN across the secondary age range
Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and Behavioural needs
Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities and learning delivery
Supporting behaviour regulation, emotional development and engagement in learning
Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and targeted interventions
Creating a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children with SEN, particularly within Secondary
A patient, calm and proactive approach
A good understanding of Autism, ADHD and SEMH needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Relevant qualifications or SEN training are desirable but not essential
