Contract: Full time, term time only. Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Are you a SEN Teaching Assistant who loves making a real difference to young people? We're looking for a caring, enthusiastic and confident Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream school in Leeds this September!

You'll be working within the school's dedicated SEN provision, supporting pupils who benefit from a more personalised and structured approach to learning, while still being part of the wider school community.

You'll be supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), SEMH, communication needs and learning difficulties. No two days will be the same, and you'll play a key role in helping pupils build confidence, develop independence and enjoy their time at school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN, including Autism, SEMH and communication needs.
  • Help pupils access learning through personalised and engaging activities.
  • Support positive behaviour, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
  • Encourage pupils to develop independence, social skills and self-confidence.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to monitor progress and provide consistent support.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ideally within a school setting.
  • A caring, patient and positive approach with a genuine passion for helping pupils succeed.
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH, communication or learning needs is desirable.
  • Confident with behaviour management and able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils.
  • Reliable, adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a supportive school team.
