Primary SEN Teaching Assistant - Castleford

NextGen Teachers are currently working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Castleford who are seeking to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, supporting pupils across school with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils both within the classroom and on a 1:1 or small group basis.

The Role:

• Supporting pupils with SEN and SEMH needs across the primary age range
• Building positive relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
• Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
• Supporting learning activities inside and outside of the classroom
• Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for all pupils

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have previous experience working with children with SEN and/or SEMH needs
• Be patient, resilient and adaptable
• Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Be passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential
• Hold relevant TA qualifications or equivalent experience (desirable but not essential)
