NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Teaching Assistant to work within a welcoming primary school in the Castleford area of Wakefield.

This is a long-term opportunity starting ASAP, working 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). The successful candidate will support children within the nursery setting, helping to create a positive, engaging and nurturing learning environment.

Candidates applying must have recent EYFS experience working in schools or private nurseries and must have a minimum qualification of GCSEs in English and Maths. Candidates with a Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare / Early Years are preferable.

The Role:

• Supporting children within the nursery classroom
• Assisting with learning activities and play-based development
• Helping to maintain a safe and inclusive environment
• Supporting pupils with social, emotional and educational development
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with early years or nursery-aged children
• A positive, patient and caring attitude
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
