NextGen Teachers are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Leeds to recruit a full-time KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to start in January 2026. This role will involve supporting children across Year 1 and Year 2 with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, ADHD, and communication needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young learners at a crucial stage of their development.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN across KS1

  • Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, speech and language, and communication needs

  • Assisting the class teacher with daily classroom activities and learning delivery

  • Supporting behaviour regulation, emotional development and engagement in learning

  • Helping to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and targeted interventions

  • Creating a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, particularly within KS1 or primary settings

  • A patient, calm and proactive approach

  • A good understanding of Autism and ADHD in early years/KS1

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Relevant qualifications or SEN training are desirable but not essential
