Primary Supply Teacher
Location: Wakefield
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm), term-time only, day-to-day supply cover
Start date: ASAP
Salary: £140 - £200 (depending on experience)
NextGen Teachers are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a passionate and adaptable Primary Supply Teacher to provide high-quality cover across a range of warm, welcoming, and inclusive primary schools in Wakefield.
This role is perfect for a caring and flexible practitioner who enjoys teaching across different year groups and is confident supporting pupils with a range of additional needs as part of a mainstream setting. You'll be joining supportive school communities that value the wellbeing of both staff and pupils, while playing a key role in helping every child learn, grow, and thrive.
About the Role
- Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons across EYFS, KS1 or KS2, ensuring all pupils can access learning
- Provide differentiated support, including small-group and one-to-one work, to help pupils make progress and build confidence
- Create a positive, calm, and purposeful learning environment where every child feels valued
- Adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet a variety of learning needs, including pupils with SEN
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and school leaders to maintain consistency and high standards
- Uphold safeguarding, equality, and inclusion in all aspects of your practice
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- Experience teaching in primary settings, with confidence supporting pupils with SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, or SEMH)
- A genuine passion for inclusive education and helping all children reach their potential
- Strong communication skills, adaptability, and effective behaviour management
- A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
