EYFS Teaching Assistant - Nursery & Reception
Primary School - Leeds
Full-Time | Start Date: January 2026

NextGen Teachers are working in partnership with a friendly and supportive primary school in Leeds to recruit a full-time EYFS Teaching Assistant to start in January 2026. This role will involve supporting children aged 2-4 years across Nursery and Reception, helping to create a safe, engaging and nurturing early learning environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early childhood development and enjoys supporting young children at the very start of their educational journey.

The Role:

  • Supporting children in Nursery and Reception with learning through play

  • Assisting with early language, communication and social development

  • Supporting daily routines, including transitions, snack time and outdoor learning

  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence

  • Working closely with the class teacher and EYFS team to deliver the EYFS curriculum

  • Creating a warm, safe and stimulating learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with early years children (Nursery or Reception)

  • A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach

  • A good understanding of the EYFS framework

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Relevant Early Years or childcare qualifications are desirable but not essential
