Pay: £100 per day
Contract: Term-time only, Monday to Friday
Duration: ASAP start - 8-week initial contract

About the Role

NextGen Teachers is recruiting a dedicated and proactive Health & Wellbeing Officer to join a welcoming secondary school in Barnsley. Based primarily in the school's medical room, this essential role supports the health, safety, and wellbeing of students throughout the school day.

This is an ASAP start opportunity with an initial 8-week contract, ideal for candidates looking to make an immediate impact in a school setting.

The Role

As the school's Health & Wellbeing Officer, you will:

• Provide day-to-day first aid support for students

• Safely manage the administration, storage, and recording of medication

• Complete and maintain relevant health and risk assessments

• Support student wellbeing and pastoral needs across the school when required

• Maintain accurate records in line with safeguarding and school policies

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a medication administration qualification (or is willing to upskill - training available through NextGen Teachers)

• Qualified with a 3-day First Aid at Work course certificate

• Has experience working with children or young people in a health, pastoral, or wellbeing-focused role

• Demonstrates strong communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills

• Is calm, reliable, and confident when managing health-related responsibilities
